Subject Overview: |
The current attendance requirement allows students to theoretically 'miss'one out of the 4 conference days. Review of attendance records demonstrates that the large proportion of students do not attend the final day of the conference. As an intensive subject, which is only held at a specific time of the academic year it is not possible to repeat at other times of the year, it is not appropriate for this loop-hole in the attendance requirement to remain which allows students to deliberately not attend. Changing the attendance requirement to 100% brings the conference subject in line with the attendance requirements of all other MD subjects. Students who has a genuine reason for not attending the conference will be able to apply for a Short Leave of Absence. |
