Course Overview:

The graduate certificate provides students with a general understanding of key concepts and issues in English literary studies. Students undertaking this short and concentrated program of study will develop valuable skills of analysis and critique. The certificate is an entry point to an articulated structure of higher degree study in English literary studies.

Objectives:

Students who complete the graduate certificate should:

  • develop a knowledge of one or more areas in the study of English;
  • understand the main theories and concepts relating to these areas of study;
  • appreciate the significance of these ideas and issues in the context of English as a discipline;
  • develop skills of analysis in relation to specific areas of English.
Course Structure & Available Subjects:
  • A minimum of two core subjects
  • A maximum of two elective subjects
Total 50 points - subjects are 12.5 points each, unless indicated otherwise.
