Course Overview:

The graduate diploma is an introductory course of concentrated language study in Indonesian. Students will acquire advanced level language skills and develop an understanding of Indonesian culture. The course is an entry point to an articulated structure of higher degree study and may qualify graduates for entry to the postgraduate diploma.

Objectives:

Students who complete the graduate diploma should:

  • consolidate advanced language skills in standard Indonesian;
  • demonstrate a capacity to conduct independent research under supervision;
  • acquire related knowledge and skills in the field of Indonesian studies.
Course Structure & Available Subjects:
  • Students complete subjects consisting of 37.5 points for each of the first two years and 25 points for the third year.
Total 100 points - subjects are 12.5 points each, unless indicated otherwise.

Students considering higher degree language study are encouraged to consider additional subjects and should seek advice from the course coordinator or a Faculty course adviser regarding an appropriate enrolment. Students who commence the Graduate Diploma at Indonesian Level 3A or above will need to complete elective subjects to meet the 100 point requirement. The choice of subjects should be discussed with the course coordinator.

  • an undergraduate degree in any discipline.
