Subject Overview:

Recent research literature will be examined to assess current issues and problems in early childhood practice. Qualitative and quantitative methods will be introduced to examine approaches to research design and the range of tools and instrumentation suitable for small-scale projects. Students will identify a problem for investigation, conduct an initial literature review and develop a project brief that outlines the instrumentation and data collection procedures for a small-scale project with support from a supervising lecturer.
