Screen Language 1A teaches craft skills covering major aspects of direction in Semester One. Participation in Actor/Director workshops include; casting, acting styles/performance and directing actors for the screen. This subject includes discussion and analysis of film directing styles such as genre/camera/editing/sound and art direction. This subject is delivered in practical based workshops as well as group tutorials with varied content depending on the strand of study.
This subject will:
Researching Film Styles (inc Directors/Actor/etc.) One major essay (1500 words, 15%) and class presentation on topic (equivalent to 5000 words, 45%).
Attendance is compulsory.
Students must attend 80% of workshops, classes and lectures in order to be eligible for assessment.
