Please note: this course is currently closed and MCCP is not accepting enrolments. The last intake into this course was Sem 1, 2010. THE GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN BULK FREIGHT SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT is concerned with how individual firms achieve market share, competitive advantage and value not only by producing at best-practice standards but also by functioning effectively in integrated chain systems which link the producer with the consumer. This is a unique and purpose designed program for managers at middle and senior levels engaged in the mining sector, rail and road operators, port and terminal operators, shipping companies and other third party service providers engaged in the production, transport and export of bulk freights such as coal, iron ore, grain and sugar. It is designed to impress on managers, operators and policy-makers the exceptional need to address the issue not just of running efficient operations within individual firms but of integrating firms in effective supply chains, in integrated operations across complex networks. This degree focusses on the rapidly changing nature of freight markets and particular skills and management techniques to achieve commercial success in this industry. This course is part of a suite of courses. The suite is made up of Graduate Certificates in Integrated Freight Systems Management, Bulk Freight Systems Management and Urban Freight Systems Management articulates. These articulate into the Graduate Diploma of Integrated Freight Systems Management. On successful completion, students can then articulate into the Master of Integrated Freight Systems Management.
