Objectives: | Subject objectives The subject objectives are to provide students with: • Management skills for effective operations in bulk export systems • Skills for managing complex coal mining and export systems • Understanding the global nature and global drivers on the local industry • Understanding the trade-offs between efficiency, costs and customer value • The skills to operate effectively within difficult policy scenarios • An understanding of variability of demand and robustness in coal export chains • An understanding of process mapping and dynamic modeling solutions for efficient bulk systems |
Assessment: |
Assessment, for each of the three subjects in the Certificate, is by way of a seminar presentation (10 percent), a group syndicate project and presentation (40 percent) and a Research Report (50 percent). |
