Course Overview:	There is no intake into the Graduate Diploma of Creative Arts for 2010. This course is currently being phased out. The graduate diploma is similar to an undergraduate major and offers a comprehensive program of study in creative arts. The course is suitable for general interest or professional development purposes and does not require a research project or thesis. Students are able to concentrate their study in a single discipline: creative writing, theatre studies and visual media. The graduate diploma could lead to a Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Arts and therefore leads to higher degree study.
Objectives:	Students who complete the graduate diploma should: develop skills in creative arts practice; demonstrate a knowledge of several areas of creative arts; understand the main theories and practices relating to these areas; appreciate the significance of these ideas and practices in the context of creative arts as an area; develop skills of analysis in relation to specific areas of creative arts.
Course Structure & Available Subjects:	eight elective subjects Total 100 points - subjects are 12.5 points each. Students must complete a sequence of first to third year level subjects: 12.5 points at first year level; 37.5 points at second year level and 50 points at third year level from the a particular discipline of study.

Graduate Attributes:	The creative arts programs are designed for students to specialise in and across the creative arts: creative writing, visual media and theatre studies. The diploma does not provide specific professional training, but provides a foundation education with multiple outcomes. The diploma emphasises teamwork, communication, research skills, creative problem solving and lateral thinking. The diploma is a valuable preparation for a variety of career paths and for leadership and management within the arts sector, including the professions of actor, art gallery director, arts manager, arts critic, designer for theatre or film, film maker, journalist, photographer, public policy in the arts, theatre director, teacher, university lecturer, visual artist, writer
