Subject Overview:

This subject explores the processes and skills involved in planning transport and land use in pursuit of environmentally sustainable and socially equitable outcomes. Practical work will provide an opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired. Three principal aspects of transport planning will be explored: 1. Planning and operation of urban public transport; 2. Preparation and evaluation of regional transport plans and major infrastructure plans; 3. Preparation of local and regional travel demand management strategies. Students will have the opportunity to specialise in one or more of these areas.
Assessment:

Group presentation, individual project report and examination equivalent to 5000 words.
