Course Overview: The postgraduate certificate provides an entry point to an articulated structure of higher degree study and may qualify graduates for entry to the postgraduate diploma.

Objectives: Student who complete the postgraduate certificate should:
  • demonstrate a general understanding of political science in the contemporary world;
  • demonstrate a general understanding of key concepts and issues involved in political science;
  • conduct applied study of political issues and demonstrate general skills of political analysis and critique.

Entry Requirements:

The minimum entry requirement is:

  • an undergraduate degree with a major in political science or cognate discipline and a grade average equivalent to an H2B (70%) at the University of Melbourne in the major
or
  • a Graduate Diploma in Arts (Political Science) with a grade average equivalent to an H2B (70%) at the University of Melbourne.
