Subject Overview:

This subject builds on skills acquired in 126-070 Swedish Language & Culture 3A and comprises advanced language training, in-depth study of Swedish culture and society, through fiction as well as non-fiction. Students will also be introduced to Danish and Norwegian for reading comprehension purposes. Students will further improve and consolidate their ability to communicate in Swedish with fluency, accuracy and appropriateness in activities involving the integrated use of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Assessment: Oral and written assessment totalling 2,000 words 50% (during semester) and a 2-hour written examination 50% (in the examination period).

Breadth Options: This subject is a level 2 or level 3 subject and is not available to new generation degree students as a breadth option in 2008.
This subject or an equivalent will be available as breadth in the future.
Breadth subjects are currently being developed and these existing subject details can be used as guide to the type of options that might be available.
2009 subjects to be offered as breadth will be finalised before re-enrolment for 2009 starts in early October.

Notes:

This subject is available at level two for the intermediate stream of Swedish. It is only available at level three for students who completed subject requirements for the beginners stream of Swedish at level one and two. Previously available as Advanced Swedish B. Students who have completed Advanced Swedish B are not eligible to enrol in this subject.
