Overview:

The Graduate Diploma in Arts (Advanced) program in French comprises advanced coursework on French language, literature, culture and cinema taught in French, and a research thesis to extend students’ knowledge and skills in understanding French language and culture. After successfully completing the program, students will have gained considerable practical skills such as research skills, report writing skills, language skills and international and cultural awareness.

Learning Outcomes:

Students who complete the Graduate Diploma in Arts (Advanced) in this area of specialisation should:

  • achieve fluency in spoken French in a variety of registers;
  • acquire advanced writing skills and be able to express abstract concepts in French; and
  • develop an understanding of a number of areas of Francophone literature, culture and/or linguistics, and be able to reflect critically on them.
Structure & Available Subjects:

Duration: 1 year full-time / 2 years part-time

The Graduate Diploma in Arts (Advanced) in this area of specialisation requires:

  • one compulsory subjects (12.5 points)
  • thesis subject (50 points)
  • elective subjects (37.5 points)
