Subject Overview:

Discipline Skills B (Design) is further develops the skills and material introduced in Discipline Skills A (Design). There is an emphasis on the techniques required to properly document a design such as models, technical drawings and storyboards. Students will use as their project material designs that they are simultaneously developing collaboratively in the subject Applied Project B (Design).

Learning Outcomes:

On completing this subject students will be able to:
• communicate and document in appropriate forms a detailed design for a specified performance project;
• demonstrate an understanding of the structure and roles within the production workshop;
• work collaboratively with other creative team members on the development of design concepts;
• demonstrate the ability to develop concepts through a specific design process.

Assessment:

Practical/written assignments equivalent to 2 X 2,000 word essays 80%

Participation 20%
