Subject Overview: |
This subject is for student chosing to specialise as directors only , or other craft specialisations such as producing, editing or cinematography. Reseach project (FTV specialisation) offers students with high result in the VCA BFA (FTV) or equivalent the oppurtunity to consolidate and extent their creative, technical and leadership skills at a high level on one or more substantive and challenging major production/s (the number of productions will depend on the chosen area of specialisation). Taking a strong self-directed approach to their studies, Honours specialisation students work with their supervisor to research to develop one particular creative and technical production skill, and apply skills in this area to the screen production/s. A contract of educational activities and outcomes is developed between the year co-ordinator, student and Head of School, for each student enrolling in this subject and it includes assessment related to the activities to be undertaken.

On completion of this subject the student should be able to: * recognise the wider professional context for their area of specialisation.

Assessment: |
Assessment items will normally include a minimum of one significant professional placement, crewing on two roles in area of specialization, a creative journal, and a self directed research paper. Exact weighting to be negotiated on an individual level with supervisor and Head of School, depending upon the contract of activities suited to the craft which is selected for specialisation (100%). |
