Course Overview:

This in-house customised course has been developed in conjunction with the Victorian Department of Health in relationship to a commercial contract entered between UoM Commercial Ltd and the Victoria Department of Health.

Learning Outcomes:

This program will provide participants with:

  • the necessary conceptual frameworks for solving problems in operations of health systems
  • knowledge in operations management as applied to health systems
  • tools for analysing health system operations against world best practice standards
  • capabilities to use frameworks for diagnosing and specifying improvement initiatives for health systems
  • ability to analyse and specify change management programs in health systems
  • understanding of leadership and management frameworks of leading organisations and how these can be adapted to health systems
  • tools such as lean operations, quality and waste reduction methods

Entry Requirements:

1. The Selection Committee will evaluate the applicant's ability to pursue successfully the course using the following criteria -

  • an undergraduate degree in any discipline; or
  • at least 10 years of documented relevant work experience in health systems, including at least 2 years of managerial experienc

2. The Selection Committee may conduct interviews and tests and may call for referee reports or employer references to elucidate any of the matters referred to above.
