Subject Overview:

On completing this subject students should have an advanced knowledge of working with actors for screen. Classes consist primarily of workshops where students have the opportunity to work with actors on an individual level.

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of this subject students shold be able to

  • display an advanced capacity to direct actors for the screen
  • demonstrate effective techniques in breaking down script direction for actors.

Assessment is continuous and based on the following: practical direction exercise(s)(70%); Participation* in workshops and crewing and collaboration on actor direction exercises (30%). *Participation assessed on criteria of engagement, ability to discuss and give/receive feedback and teamwork skills. For this subject there is an 80% attendance hurdle for workshops, classes and lectures.
