125 hours. Attendance at all classes (tutorial/seminars/practical classes/lectures/labs/online classes) is obligatory. Failure to attend 80% of classes will normally result in failure in the subject.
These subjects should be taken concurrently.

This subject will introduce students to various traditions in second language educational research. It will be structured around an investigation of several major research methodologies used in language education research, including the nature of second language education research, ethical approaches to research in second language education, using literature in second language education research, document-based approaches to second language education research, and practitioner based approaches to second language education research.
On completion of this subject, students will:
Reflective research/practice essay based task – 2000 words - due mid semester, 40%
Comparative research methodology essay based task - 3000 words - due end of semester, 60%
