Subject Overview: |
This subject enables students to develop their interpretation of the operatic aria culminating in a concert performance of two arias. Students will study the vocal, stylistic and linguistic characterisations of their allocated/selected arias, and examine examples of outstanding historical performances of the selected works. It is expected that students will attend relevant concerts throughout the semester. |

Assessment: |
Presentation of two solo arias at an end of semester concert performance in week 12 (85%); 5 minute oral presentation, prior to performance, describing the historical context of the arias (15%).
