Subject Overview:

An introduction to the theory and practice of the tools of music making – melody, harmony, rhythm, form, etc and their application in the art of improvisation.


Objectives:

Assessment:

Continuous – Preparation, participation and commitment (20%).
Formal – One mid semester written test (40%) and an end of semester written examination (1 hour) (40%).
