Attendance at all classes (tutorial/seminars/practical classes/lectures/labs) is obligatory. Failure to attend 80% of classes will normally result in failure in the subject. |

Subject Overview: |
This subject utilises a problem-based learning approach and will build on knowledge and skills developed in earlier subjects. It will equip students to take on leadership roles in schools. Topics covered may include developing curriculum initiatives, planning for teachers’ professional learning; and strategic and operational planning for schools (including budgeting). Teams will take on the role of a school committee and prepare reports and recommendations as if for the principal and School Council and will present their recommendations at mock school council meetings. |

On completion of this subject teacher candidates will have demonstrated that they can work in teams to analyse and evaluate needs of classrooms and schools, to determine goals for the classroom or school, and create plans to achieve these goals. |
