Subject Overview:

Students will develop their initial understanding of the early years curriculum in primary schools, the role of the teacher within and beyond the classroom, the teaching and learning processes, and the ways in which the primary school works within the broader community. Students will plan cooperatively with the classroom teacher, implement and evaluate small and whole class lessons in Literacy, Numeracy and SOSE and the Arts. Students will continue to develop skills of critical reflection and professional record keeping.
