| Subject Overview: |
Students gain an understanding of the chemistry of cultural heritage materials and of products. It examines the relationship between conservation, chemical structure, properties, solvents, adhesives, consolidants, paints; and their interaction with cultural heritage objects. |

| Assessment: |
Ten technical reports 500 words, each worth 10% will be due over the assessment period from 8 April - 13 May 2013. Hurdle requirement: students must attend a minimum of 75% of workshops/tutorials in order to pass this subject. Assessment submitted late without an approved extension will be penalised at 2% per day; after five days, no late assessment will be accepted. In-class tasks missed without approval will not be marked. All pieces of written work must be submitted to pass this subject. |
