Subject Overview: An individually-negotiated research project based on the student's professional work, the subject will provide experience in defining a research problem, undertaking a literature review, designing an appropriate methodology, conducting the investigation, analysing the data, and reporting the results.
Objectives: On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
  • understand the process of undertaking a research project;
  • develop applied research skills;
  • conduct a constructively critical literature review;
  • be able to investigate systematically a matter of concern in their workplace; and
  • be able to write a clear and coherent report on their research.
Assessment: A research report of approximately 4,000 words (100%), due week 14.
