Structure & Available Subjects: The Postgraduate Certificate in Arts in this area of specialisation requires:
  • Elective subjects to total 50 points

Total 50 points

Students need written permission from the subject coordinator to enrol in:

  • Directed Reading Project

Note: Posgraduate Certificate students may also take the following subjects for 25 points by enrolling in Directed Reading Project for the remaining 12.5 points:

  • Seminars in Theoretical Linguistics
  • Structure of Aboriginal Languages
  • Seminars in Descriptive Linguistics
  • Discourse Analysis & Representation
  • Experimental Phonetics

Note: Postgraduate Certificate students may only enrol in one of the following subjects for the Postgraduate Certificate and these subjects are not available in online mode for Postgraduate Certificate students:

  • Quantitative Methods in Language Studies
  • Second Language Acquisition
  • English in a Globalised World
  • Bilingualism
Note: subject to coordinator approval, students may substitute one of the other LING900 subjects.
