THE GRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN INTEGRATED FREIGHT SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT is purpose-designed for managers and operators in 3PLs and 3PSPs, for logistics and supply chain managers from manufacturing and production-oriented firms and for those who manage policy and decision-making in the public sector. It is designed to impress on managers, operators and policy-makers the exceptional need to address the issue not just of running efficient operations within individual firms but of integrating firms in effective supply chains, in integrated operations across complex networks.

This degree focuses on the rapidly changing nature of freight markets and particular skills and management techniques to achieve commercial success in this industry.

This course is the first of a suite of courses. The Graduate Certificate of Integrated Freight Systems Management and the related Graduate Certificate in Bulk Freight Systems Management and the Graduate Certificate in Urban Freight Systems Management articulate into the Graduate Diploma of Integrated Freight Systems Management. Students can then articulate further to the Master of Integrated Freight Systems Management.

Objectives: This course seeks to provide transport service providers, logistics and supply chain managers and managers of production firms with the background, analytical skills and techniques necessary to manage their operations within complex integrated freight networks efficiently and cost-effectively. In particular it seeks to provide new ways of thinking, key concepts and appropriate frameworks for understanding integrated freight systems and value-driven chains and supply chains.

Course Structure & Available Subjects: To satisfy the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Integrated Freight Systems Management students must successfully complete 3 subjects, (16.7 credit points each) for a total of 50 points.

Entry Requirements: An undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification and at least two years relevant documented professional work experience.

Applicants may also gain entry through professional work experience.
