Subject Overview:

Please note: this subject is currently closed and MCCP is not accepting enrolments.

The subject focuses on the dynamics and structure of urban freight markets; it poses the question to 3PLs and 3PSPs of what business they are in; who are the competitors; what they need to understand to be a leader not a follower; and it provides a framework for understanding and problem solving. Particularly, it seeks to provide an understanding:

Of the rapidly changing urban freight markets; of value migration
and strategy decay in these markets; and of the structuring of urban
freight markets;

Of competition and 'efficiency' in 3PSP markets; of the notion of
competitive advantage and value; and of value-driven chains and
supply chains; and

Of the relationship between linehaul, interface and inventory
capacities - derived from simulation exercises and case studies

Objectives: Please note: this subject is currently closed and MCCP is not accepting enrolments.
Assessment: Assessment, for each of the three subjects in the Certificate, is by way of a seminar presentation (10 percent), a group syndicate project and presentation (40 percent) and a Research Report (50 percent).
