Subject Overview: In the second year of the MTEM program participants undertake a consultancy or action learning project. Their projects report will present proposals for management to act on, arguing a case with data and analysis. Projects will be designed to tackle a real life institutional issue; integrate participant learning; and demonstrate mastery of knowledge and skills developed during the program.
At the first residential school for this unit, participants are introduced to action learning, consulting and project management methods, and given guidance as to project design and expectations about project outcomes. Projects may be conducted on an individual or team basis outside the participant’s own work area, or in another tertiary institutional setting. Projects may take place in Australia or New Zealand, or overseas.
