Subject Overview: An individually negotiated project in which the student undertakes a theoretical study (for example, a substantial critical review of a particular body of literature), a research or workplace project, or an approved relevant educational experience conducted outside the Faculty of Education.
Objectives: Not available
Assessment: Depending on the type of project undertaken: either a literature review, research project or project of 8,000 words (100 per cent); or a detailed report of the project activity of 8,000 words or equivalent, together with a report from the project mentors (100 per cent).

Generic Skills: On completion of this subject, students will be able to:
  • Critically apply their learning from their study of international and Australian systems to their own local policy context;
  • Undertake an analysis of a local policy issue;
  • Make policy recommendations on a local policy issue which take into account learnings from their international and Australian studies.

  • Understand the broader international policy context of their field;
  • Relate research findings to their own experience as practitioners;
  • Apply their international and Australian experience to the management of real policy issues in their work.
