Prerequisites: Admission into one of the following programs D32-AA Master of International Relations, 097-AB Master of Development Studies, 097-GD Master of Development Studies (Gender and Development), 344-AB Master of Public Policy and Management, D13-AA Master of Global Media Communications.
Corequisites: None.
Recommended Background Knowledge: Completion on an undergraduate degree.

Subject Overview: This subject involves a study of an approved topic in global public policy and international relations. Details of the program being offered will be available from the School. Students who complete this subject successfully should have demonstrated a specialist understanding of the topic, contributed effectively to the work of the seminar, shown a capacity for an advanced level of analysis and familiarised themselves with the latest directions of research into that particular topic.

This subject will be offered by selected Universitas 21 partners in conjunction with the University of Melbourne and will be taught as an intensive in Australia and/or overseas. Students must contact the coordinator for further information before enrolling in this subject.
Objectives: The student will have acquired additional information, methodology or skills directly relevant to their program of study.
Assessment:

Individual learning log (30%): 1500 word diary (paper, blog, video or combination) recording learning arising from participation in the module, to be delivered within 3 weeks of module completion.

Assignment (60%): 3,000 word paper providing comparative analysis of one area of public policy relevant to the module, to be delivered within 6 weeks of module completion.

Group report (pass/fail) (10%): 15 minute presentation by cross-university group plus Q&A session, at end module, assessed pass/fail by module tutors.
