Course Overview:	The Graduate Certificate in Clinical Dentistry will provide overseas trained dentists whose qualifications are not immediately recognised in Australia with the knowledge and skills they require to prepare for dental practice in Australia and to practice their dental skills under the guidance of experienced general and specialist Australian dentists. Following completion of the Graduate Certificate, students will be required to independently undertake (and pass) the ADC examinations before they can apply to the Dental Practice Board to allow them to practice general dentistry in Australia.
Objectives:	The 20 week program consists of lectures (4 weeks) plus tutorials, pre-clinical and clinical experience on site at the Royal Dental Hospital Melbourne (16 weeks). The emphasis is on understanding dentistry practices in Australia, and providing the opportunity for students to update existing clinical skills and knowledge as well as to develop communication, presentation and patient management skills relevant to Australian general dental practice.
Course Structure & Available Subjects:	To satisfy the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Dentistry, students must successfully complete all four subjects, a total of 50 points.

Entry Requirements:	The minimum entry requirement is: • Successful completion of an undergraduate dental degree recognised by the University of Melbourne • Evidence of registration (or eligibility for registration) as a dentist in the student’s home country or the country in which their dental studies were undertaken. • Demonstrated competency in English language skills by one of the means recognized by the Faculty of Medicine Dentistry and Health Sciences • Achievement of minimum level of dental skills as assessed by a skills test undertaken by Dental Health Services Victoria
