Prerequisites: | Students must be enrolled in the Bachelor of Biomedicine (Honours), Bachelor of Science (Honours) or Postgraduate Diploma in Science to complete this subject.

Subject Overview: | This subject aims to extend the student’s education and intellectual development in the field of biomedical science. This subject uses a structured approach to introduce students to advances in biomedical research with an emphasis on oral health science. In a series of 10 x 1hr lectures and 10 x 1 hr seminars, students are introduced to advances in oral health research. |

Assessment: | • Assignment 1 - a literature review, no more than 3000 words, based on advances in oral health science= 50%; • Assignment 2 – scientific critique of a selected journal article, no more than 3000 words = 50% |
