Prerequisites: CHIN10011/CHIN20001 Chinese 2A and CHIN20010 Chinese 2C.

Subject Overview:

This subject builds upon the linguistic abilities developed in Chinese 2A and 2C while broadening students' knowledge of Chinese culture.
Objectives:
  • be able to make a short speech in Chinese.
  • have a wider knowledge of Chinese culture.
  • have improved reading and writing skills
Assessment:

Oral and listening comprehension class work 20% (due weekly in class). a 10-minute oral examination 10% (during the examination period). a 30-minute listening test 10% (at the end of semester). homework and writing tests 10% (weekly in class). a 2-hour final examination 40% (during the examination period) and continuous class participation 10%.

Class attendance is required for this subject; if you do not attend a minimum of 80% of classes without an approved exemption you will not be eligible for a pass in this subject. Assessment submitted late without an approved extension will be penalised at 10% per day. In-class tasks missed without approval will not be marked. All pieces of written work must be submitted to pass this subject.
