This course builds on the knowledge acquired by students in Chinese 2D or Chinese 2F (previously offered as Chinese 1B) . Students should broaden their listening comprehension and speaking skills and gain confidence and independence in handling written Chinese language materials and in making the transition from textbook material to original Chinese texts. |

Assessment: |
Short tests and/or assignments 10% (commencing 2nd week and before the end of semester), an oral test 20% (during the examination period), a listening and comprehension test 20% (during the examination period), a 2-hour final examination 40% (during the examination period) and continuous class participation 10%. Class attendance is required for this subject; if you do not attend a minimum of 80% of classes without an approved exemption you will not be eligible for a pass in this subject. Assessment submitted late without an approved extension will be penalised at 10% per day. In-class tasks missed without approval will not be marked. All pieces of written work must be submitted to pass this subject. |
