Subject Overview: |
This subject introduces students to the theories, processes, and practices behind strategic planning and decision-making in arts organisations today. In addition to generic management issues, students will be asked to identify and analyse issues unique to the arts industry. Students will be introduced to relevant case studies from a diverse range of arts organisations illustrating the application of strategic planning, board governance, managing creativity, human resource management and project management. |

Upon successful completion students will have:

Assessment: | Written work of 5000 words in total consisting of a short analytical piece (1000 words worth 20%), a group project and class presentation with related individual assessment (2000 words 40%), and a major piece of assessment (2000 words 40%), due throughout the semester. Students are required to attend a minimum of 80% of classes in order to qualify to have their written work assessed. All required written work must be submitted in order to pass the subject. |
