Subject Overview:

This subject will introduce students to the ethical issues, cultural considerations, policy framework and the economic environment that informs conservation practice.

Objectives:
Upon completion of this subject students should:
  • an understanding of the history, the key issues of the discipline of conservation and the professional standards required and parameters for sound decision-making
  • be familiar with laboratory safety and other Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) considerations

Assessment: Two 1,000 word technical papers, 20% each (due during semester) and a 3000 word essay 60% (due end of semester)
