Subject Overview: |
This subject introduces students to a variety of critical methodologies suitable for the engagement in, and analysis of, creative arts. Students will consider the theoretical grounding for an arts culture nexus and consider this relationship from the perspective of important critical, methodologies/contexts such as Marxism, feminism, postmodernism, historicism, postcolonialism, etc. Students will be required to participate in seminar discussions. |

Assessment: | Seminar preparation and participation equivalent to 1500 words 35% (due at the end of semester), and a 3500-word essay 65% (due end of semester). There is a hurdle requirement of a minimum of 80% attendance. |
