A series of weekly seminars normally divided into two segments of one hour each. In some weeks the seminar is split into separate musicology and performance groups; other weeks the seminar is jointly run. General seminar format:

Objectives: | On completion of the subject, students should have gained experience in the preparation and presentation of research papers and a wider perspective of research and associated issues in musicology and performance. |
Assessment: |
Students are required to attend at least 18 seminars per semester (over 2 semesters) during candidature. Assessment is on a Pass/Fail basis . |
