Course Overview: The Master of Geographic Information Technology is a two semester program of coursework. The program is designed to meet the needs of graduates employed in the disciplines associated with land administration, natural resource management, facility information management, environmental management, urban planning and conservation, who wish to gain a detailed knowledge of the theory, technology and applications of geographic information systems (GIS) as a subset of the broader discipline of the management of spatial data. These are likely to be graduates in engineering, surveying, geography, planning, environmental science, agriculture and forestry.

Course Structure & Available Subjects:

Students are required to complete 100 points of study. Overseas (and full-time local) students will complete the course in two semesters (note that Australian immigration requirements restrict part-time study to local students), while part-time local students may complete the course over a two-year period with approval from the course coordinator.

Entry Requirements: The minimum entry requirement is a 4-year undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline or a 3-year degree and at least 2 years of documented relevant work experience.
