Overview:

This specialisation offers students the opportunity to explore their creative potential and to extend their work to avant-garde, cross-genre and experimental forms of writing. Students are encouraged to critcally test the creative potential and the influence of contemporary theoretical and philosophical schools of thought in all forms of writing. Areas of specialisation include fiction, poetry, poetics, non-fiction, performance and writing for theatre and autobiography.

Structure & Available Subjects: A specialisation in Creative Writing in the Graduate Diploma of Arts consists of:

Level 1

  • 12.5 points one level one Creative Writing subject
Level 2

  • 37.5 points from the Creative Writing level two subject list

Level 3

  • The compulsory subject Encounters with Writing (12.5 points)
  • and 37.5 points from the Creative Writing level three subject list.
