Overview:

The minimum entry requirement for classical studies & archaeology honours is completion of all the requirements for the BA, with completion of a major in classical studies & archaeology, and an average grade over the second/third year subjects within the major equivalent to at least an H2B (70%).

Structure & Available Subjects:

Students undertaking pure honours in classical studies and archaeology must complete:

  • Classical Studies and Archaeology Thesis (37.5 points); and
  • Five honours subjects in classical studies and archaeology (62.5 points).

Students may substitute up to two of these subjects with Latin and/or ancient Greek (intermediate and/or advanced).

Students undertaking combined honours in classical studies and archaeology and another discipline must complete:

  • Classical Studies and Archaeology Thesis (37.5 points); and
  • Two honours subjects in classical studies and archaeology (25 points); and
  • Three honours subjects in the combining discipline (37.5 points).

or

  • Honours thesis in the combining discipline (37.5 points); and
  • Two honours subjects in the combining discipline (25 points); and
  • Three honours subjects in classical studies and archaeology (37.5 points).
