Subject Overview: | Lectures, demonstrations and workshops in screen language and aesthetics, video production, production management, sound recording and editing techniques lead to short practical exercises. Each student had the opportunity to direct three short exercises, that they have written, as well as crew for other students in areas such as production managing, assistant directing, sound recording, camera operating, lighting, art directing and continuity. Students also undertake short specialist studies in such as Animation, Visual Effects, Producing or Documentary. |

Assessment: | Continuous and based on submission of exercises and crewing undertaken. 3 x Video production exercises (1-4mins each) (50%); crewing on other student productions (30%); class participation* and class exercises (equivalent 2500 words) (20%) (*Participation assessed on criteria of engagement, ability to discuss and give/receive feedback and teamwork skills.) For this subject there is an 80% attendance hurdle for workshops, classes, lectures, demonstrations and tutorials. |
