Subject Overview:

This subject provides an extension of skills in four areas selected by the student from the seven streams of study in Production Skills 1A (lighting, sound, design, workshop, costume, techncial drawing and stage management). Students will normally not be allowed to continue in an area in which they have failed to achieve a satisfactory grade of H3 or above.

Assessment: The four areas of study will be assessed separately; the final result will be an aggregate of the four marks for the subject. The nature of assessment will include practical work eg. model making, millinery, and costume construction and written assignments eg. prompt copy, costume bible, lighting and set plans. Assignments set will be dependent on the selected areas of study (80%); Participation (20%).

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • demonstrate capacities for artistic imagination, creativity, transformation and interpretation are increased;
