The subject introduces students in the Faculty of Architecture, Building & Planning to the skills necessary to conduct rigorous and original research and effectively communicate their research findings in a clear and systematic manner. The subject concentrates on the preliminary stages of thesis writing:

• selecting and refining a research topic
• developing research questions/hypotheses
• selecting and using appropriate research methods

• Design an appropriate research program for their Research project.
• Propose a research topic and survey the relevant literature.
• Demonstrate an understanding of various research approaches and paradigms and methods of data collection and analysis.

Minor Thesis 15000 words based on a 5000 word research proposal submitted for 702-697 Research Project Part 1 (Masters)
