Subject Overview: As advised by the thesis supervisor each candidate will study appropriate research methodology, and carry out a review of relevant literature and research to be used in an investigative study resulting in the preparation of a thesis written in accordance with accepted scholarly conventions. The thesis should be a significant piece of research and should make a significant contribution to theory and practice in educational psychology. The preparation, successful explanation and satisfactory defence of a detailed proposal of approximately 5000 words will be required to be completed in Semester 2 in the first year of enrolment for full-time students and Semester 2 in the second year of enrolment for part-time students. Students must the contact the program co-ordinator to arrange supervision upon entry to the course.
Assessment: This subject is marked on a Pass/Fail only basis.

A thesis of approximately 45,000 words excluding appendices, to be examined by two external examiners (100 per cent). The thesis is graded on a `Pass' or `Fail' basis.
