|Time Commitment:||Contact Hours: Four hours of language classes per week |
Total Time Commitment: 4 contact hours/week , 8 additional hours/week. Total of 12 hours per week.
|Prerequisites:||Chinese 5A or equivalent as determined by the coordinator. New students may not enrol unless they have attended an interview and/or placement test in the week preceding the first week of semester.|

|Subject Overview:||This subject is a continuation of Chinese 5A. It involves advanced spoken and written Chinese. Students will read a variety of extracts from Modern Chinese and improve their writing and speaking skills.|
|Assessment:||A 1-hour composition test 20% (mid-semester), a 10-minute oral examination 10% (during the examination period), a 2-hour examination 60% (during the examination period), ongoing class work 5% and ongoing class participation 5%.|
