Subject Overview: ‘From Academic Researcher to Entrepreneurial Writer' will be delivered as three distinct modules covering the different facets of writing for the commercial non-fiction marketplace. Participants will examine the potential of their work and their writing styles and will determine the optimum way for that work to be presented to a general audience in order to generate financial return. Participants will undertake a variety of writing exercises to put theoretical concepts into practice and to develop their writing skills with a commercial audience in mind.

Subject fees for successful applicants are paid through the Commercialisation Training Scheme Scholarship administered by the Melbourne School of Graduate Research.

Assessment: A series of written assignments totaling 14,000 words.
