Subject Overview:

The emphasis in this subject is on major authors in contemporary Spanish and Latin American literature. Students will be introduced to a broad spectrum of narrative techniques and themes prevalent in the key narrative works under consideration, and will also analyse contemporary texts. All of the texts will be studied within their socio-historical and cultural context.

Assessment: Two 1500 to 2000-word essays 80% and a 15 to 20-minute oral 20%. For 4th-year students greater achievement and application of research skills and a longer presentation will be required.
