Subject Overview: | For students wishing or needing to improve basic keyboard skills. Areas to be considered include: scales, arpeggios, sight-reading, hamonization of melodic lines, improvisation over a chord program, clef-reading (treble and bass), basic transposition and will include preparation of selected repertoire appropriate to the individual's skill level and interest. The class will be conducted in the Yamaha electronic keyboard laboratory. |

Assessment: | Continuous: Preparation and commitment as demonstrated by performance tasks an/or a regularly updated journal of activities embracing all areas studied (50%) - Hurdle requirement 80% attendance.Formal: One small ensemble performance of approximately 20 minutes (50%). |
