Subject Overview: | First semester comprises formal drawing classes based mainly on observational drawing; figure drawing, still life and other modes of observational drawing. Group tutorials to discuss and critique students' work, and drawing related issues of historical and contemporary relevance are held on a regular basis. Students are required to maintain sketchbooks and diaries. |

Assessment: | Assessment is based on a folio of the student's work, submitted at the end of the semester, containing a requisite number of works completed during the semester including finished works, developmental studies, set assignments, sketches, sketchbooks, diaries and any other relevant material the student may decide to submit (100 %). |
