Subject Overview:

The Australian Contemporary Chorale performs all-new choral works by living Australian composers, many of whom are students or staff in the music faculty. It performs regularly at concerts, as well as spending weekends away to workshop and perform various new pieces. It is a small ensemble in which students can improve sight-singing, aural ability and general musicianship.

On completion of this subject students should be able to:
  • Show technical development as ensemble musicians
  • Participate with ability and self-confidence as a team member of a performing group
  • Perform selected repertoire to concert standard
  • Identify and exhibit specific knowledge of a range of ensemble repertoire
  • exhibit an informed respect for the values and principles of ensemble performance.
Assessment:

Assessment will be on a pass/fail basis and will be based on punctual attendance at and participation in all rehearsals and performances as directed (100%)

Less than 80% attendance will result in a fail.
